Big Apple Showtimes

Down by the pier they’re showing

American Graffiti,

those who want to write it now are banned

from letting loose with spray cans,

anyways, the ride to the pier

is too long for them to tag the screen, they live

in parental rent-controlled apartments

among the cop colonized projects

On the Waterfront? That’s showing uptown

around midtown at Bryant Park,

not a longshoreman in sight,

and the only criminals in the field

will be stealing out of picnic baskets,

or carrying around spontaneous pharmacies

to help film aficionados

numb the pain of focusing on the screen
