The Platform is a literary open mic featuring first time readers, early career writers and seasoned, published poets and authors. We encourage original poetry or prose and you’ll always find a supportive literary community ready to listen. Each reader gets a 5 minute maximum reading time.*

We do not want writing that was created—entirely or partially—with AI software. Our open mic is meant to be an outlet for human creativity only.
We offer a free writing workshop before the Open Mic.
When: First Wednesday of every month. Workshop starts at 7PM, Sign ups from 7:45PM, Open Mic 8-9:30PM

ARTS By The People is offering our local business community an opportunity to partner with us and consider sponsoring The Platform. The Platform is our monthly literary open mic that features first time readers, early career writers and seasoned, published poets and authors. We have been running The Platform since 2012 with an increasing number of participants from the Morris County area and New Jersey.
What does a sponsorship include?
Your name/company will be recognized at the beginning of The Platform during the executive director’s introduction.
Your name/company will appear on our website as The Platform’s sponsor.
Your name/company will appear on all social media (monthly blasts, Instagram, Facebook)
How much are the sponsorship levels?
$100 for 1 month
$1,000 for 12 months
