The Writing LAB: Ekphrastic Writing Book Launch, 2025


Submissions will open for 2026 on May 1-June 30, 2026.

The Ekphrastic Writing Residency will take place at Madison Community Arts Center

Residency participants will have their writing in a full color compilation book alongside original music from our Musicians-in-Residence.
- Participants must commit to the residency date.

In-person Book Launch will take place at Madison Community Arts Center
- Prizes awarded to 2 writers for the most creative ekphrastic piece written during the residency.
- The Madison Community Arts Center is barrier free and a 5 minute walk from NJ Transit Madison Station. If you should need assistance, reach out at 973.703.5500.
- We are interested in writers from New Jersey, New York City and the Philadelphia Region.
- Residency is limited to 12 writers.

Interested? Send an email to info@artsbythepeople.org with Ekphrastic Residency in the subject line. Include your name, bio, 3 sample poems or 2 prose pieces (under 2500 words). Please mention if you have participated in any ABTP programs currently or in the past. We’d like to know!
