This poem written on a train as it trundles daily

through the diaspora at the end of the world

Will labor to describe to you the off the cuff

kind of day it was in the the diaspora at the

end of the world This poem written on a train

owes its peculiar rhythms its broken terrain

to the belief that When you don’t know where

you’re going  any road  will take you  there

in the diaspora at the end of the world

Where a spit bucket republic juggles itself

Where comedians get no laughs
